A flux is a chemical cleaning agent, flowing agent, or purifying agent. Fluxes may have more than one function at a time. They are used in both extractive metallurgy and metal joining.Solder Resin or solder Rosin are used as flux in soldering to avoid the formation of oxides that tend to form whenever hot metal comes in contact with air.

Do you have water soluble solder flux? I need that for soldering an SSOP20 chip. I wonder if this resin flux can be used for that purpose?

If you don't want to make your own flux from this (by adding +95% isopropyl alcohol), don't buy this. Buy solder paste sold here instead. They are actually solder flux.
