Never used one like it before , is it safe to just leave it open or should i connect it to the ground pin in socket???
anon
A.R | Jun 24,2014 at 05:00 PM
There is no problem if you keep that floating. If you have any metal body on your working table, you can attach the clip to that one. But do not connect it to the ground pin of the socket.

Can anyone confirm whether the tip is good enough to be tinned?

I have some cheap irons from many years ago and one bought recently from outside, but it looks like their tips are not resilient to rosin and thus become black (so very little heat on the tip).

(De)soldering SMD stuff becomes impossible unless I want to burn the board. Basically, I want to know whether the tip can always attract solder regardless of your habit of applying flux :)

I bought this a few months ago (November 15, 2015). I didn't use it for 2 weeks. I plugged it today and it is not getting hot enough and the bit had a little rust on it. The solder is not melting and the temperature is set to full. What can be the problem?

as a eee student and for project which type of soldering iron is best for me.and please mention about it's rating of watt
anon
FAHIM_REAZA | May 9,2016 at 01:26 PM
It’s depending on the total surrounding environment, PCB quality and also the quality of the Soldering Lead you are using for this. It is often necessary to regulate temperature for quality full soldering. Thus why we suggest to use “Adjustable Soldering Iron” or “Hakko FX888D Soldering Station” to use. But if you consider about the costing then, you can also use any 60W Soldering Iron.

For any type of foreign product including this, warranty must be claimed within 7 days o purchase. If we are sure that the product was faulty from the beginning and not due to any mishandling. It can be used for soldering SMD components. Watt is not mentioned by the manufacturer. So far our experience with this product is good.

Tip is replaceable but no extra tip is included with the package. if you want to replace, you have to measure it with slide calipers and find something similar.
