Summary:
Digital IR Sensor Array2 (TCRT5000)

This sensor package is for line following Bot. Every now and then hobbyist who are willing to play with Line following Robot has tough time with the IR sensor arrangement. This is a neat solution for them.

Two TCRT5000 reflective optical sensors have been used here.The LM358 dual OPAMP works as a comparator with two reference voltages set by two POTs.The sensors have 0.5 inch spacing.

Calibration:To calibrate the sensors,you must tune the respective POTs.The left POT is connected to SEN1 and the right POT is conncted to SEN2.Connect VCC and GND pins with the power supply and connect SEN1 and SEN2 pins with two LEDs.Keep tuning the POTs until the LEDs glow.

Now,Draw a Black line on a white paper or vice versa.After the proper calibration is done,the LEDs will turn on when the sensors trace black and they will turn off when the Sensors trace white.That means,The output is always either 1(High) or 0(Low).

It is not taking slight sharp bends.I have adjusted the pots.Can it be solved,and it is not working as obstacle avoidance,while other regular ir sensors are working.How can it be solved.

First of all, this sensor is made for line follower. This is not a good choice for obstacle detection. For obstacle detection, this one must be used. https://www.techshopbd.com/product-categories/sensors/1824/ir-infrared-obstacle-sensor-techshop-bangladesh

And another issue is that the sensor are placed in-vertically.It is not the same as the picture above.

The package has been recently changed with the sensors soldered in the back side of the board and some extra LEDs. No major change. We will change the picture soon. Thank you. And sorry for the confusion.

Is this module same as the above one?
What is the minimum input voltage Vcc?(5v or more)
It gives digital output then it should give 5v for high and 0v for low,doesn't it?
Can I directly connect the sensor output to ULN2003A to drive the motors??
OR can I pass through a 1bit magnitude comparator?

4)The board has an in built comparator. No comparator is needed.
