I got this board last year when I attended the special batch which was supposed to teach us basic + advanced use of PIC. I am very dissapointed with this board because we didn't get any documentation of which pins are connected with which then and it looks like PI LAB doesn't bother to bring out a user manual now...

I am really getting confused because we started giving this board to the students from this year. User manual is given to the students and buyers but we do not expose it in the site. Please send a detail mail to [email protected] mentioning your batch number and roll number and if possible, the model number of the kit you got so that we can understand which kit it was actually and take the necessary steps to help you out.

I've buy this product.
It's operating system is missing.
how can i solve this problem?
anon
A.R | Jul 17,2014 at 09:44 AM
Really? Was it missing from the beginning or this problem occurred after using this? You should follow these steps now. Please connect your PIC programmer to you computer. Then go to Tools>Download operating system>C:\Program Files (x86)\Microchip\PICkit 2 v2>PK2V023200.hex. If it does not work, Please send us the board back or come to our office with the board. We must check it. Sorry for this inconvenience.

Assalamualaikum.

Is there any PIC development board that supports different 'pin count' chips - like 8/28/40 pins chip (12F675, 16F73, 18F2550). Well there are some more in between - 16F628(18 pins), 16F676(14 pins), 16F690(20 pins) etc. The programmer chip should be based on 'pickit 2', or any other standalone ICSP software (not bootloader, and mentioning this as there are boards like pinguino etc., of which I have no idea as how do these work). I need something like your 'AVR Mini Development Kit' - https://www.techshopbd.com/product-categories/avr-9715/1057/avr-mini-development-kit-techshop-bangladesh .

Thank you.

Walaikum Salam. This board also supports different pin count chips. It supports all MCU supported by PICKIT2. You have to use ICSP pinouts instead of zif socket,

In fact, I wanted to avoid breadboard (for small projects), as often these create problem and lots of time is wasted before realizing it's only a breadboard connection problem.

I have zif adapter for different chips. I think I should buy some new breadboards :) . Thank you.

Best regards.

Walaikum salam. In case of all PIC chips, RESET pin must be pulled up with a 1K resisor. Please make sure you are doing that.

It supports both. But working in MPLAB with this is not straightforward. As you can see this board is based on PICKIT2 and PICKIT2 has its own software. So,pICKIT2 must be the first choice. We have very clearly shown in our manual how to burn hex files with pickit2. We even provided sample codes. Please see them well.
