MQ-9 gas sensor has high sensitity to Carbon Monoxide, Methane and LPG. The sensor could be used to detect different gases contains CO and combustible gases, it is with low cost and suitable for different application.
Is this capable of detecting gas leakage from the gas cylinders we use in our houses?

You have to know what gases are in your cylinders. This one can detect LP gases, methen and carbon monoxide. Gas cylinders which are normally used for cooking contain LP gas.

The one that I received is not of the same model as the one shown in picture here.
This is really misleading.
pls fix it.

Model is same of course. This one is MQ-9 so is the one you received. With four pins and an on board potentiometer. In our current lost just the colour of the outer lining of the MQ-9 sensor is grey instead of silver as shown in the picture. As it is mentioned in terms and conditions, products may not exactly look like the picture as our lots continuously changes. But it does not mean that we give wrong model or do not sell what we show.

i think this one has more surface area exposed to outside air than the one with plastic side-cover.
