This version of the popular Bluetooth uses the HC-05 module. This works as a serial (RX/TX) pipe. Any serial stream from 9600 to 115200bps can be passed seamlessly from your computer to your target.

The remote unit can be powered from 3.3V up to 6V for easy battery attachment. All signal pins on the remote unit are 3V-6V tolerant. No level shifting is required. You can directly connect it to a 3.3V/5V microcontroller. You'll need a usb to serial converter to connect it to a computer.

By default, this bluetooth module is set to be on SLAVE mode. But you can reconfigure it with proper AT commands to use it as a MASTER device.

The actual hardware and mentioned specification was not the same. According to the spec, there should be a pin named "KEY" but in my case it was "EN". So I could not bring it to AT command mode. After searching the net, I found that there are some different versions of HC-05. Some of them have a push button. In my hardware, there was a space for push button but no push button were soldered there. I therefore shorted the push button terminal during the power up and able to enter into AT command mode. I think it should be mentioned clearly.

ভাই, এখানে কয়েক মিনিটের ব্যবধানে বারবার একটা প্রশ্ন টাইপ করার তো দরকার নাই। আমরা আমাদের সময়মতই লগিন করব এবং উত্তর দেব। সাথে সাথে তো আর দেখব না বা উত্তর দেব না। এটির রেঞ্জ, পাসওয়ার্ড সবকিছু অলরেডি ডকুমেন্টস সেকশনে এর ডাটাশিটে দেওয়া আছে। দয়া করে ওটা নামিয়ে পড়ুন। ঐখানে যা যা লেখা তার বাইরে আমরাও কিছু জানি না।

connected the TXD to RX1 and RXD to TX1 of my leonardo. However the micro controller does not respond nor does it communicates with the HC 05. It connects to my phone successfully. Tried 4 to 5 different code but still doesnt work.

unfortunately I bought this about a month ago but didnt use it till today. I dont have another ardunio board so cant test it that way. The RX1 and TX1 leds do not flash either when connected to the HC-05. Can you give me any other tips about how can i fix this?

Why should anyone do that? This one should be connected to arduino/ microcontroller by Tx and Rx pins. And the arduino/micrcontroller should drive the speaker. The VCC and GND pins of this module must be shorted with those of arduino/microcontroller. That's it.
